Q: How are the ages of wrestlers determined in the IKWF?

A: The age of all wrestlers in the IKWF are determined by their age on December 31st of the current season.  For example: If your son or daughter was born on December 30, 1997 they would be a 10 year old for the entire season (2007-08 only).  If your son or daughter was born on January 1, 1998 they would be a 9 year old for the entire season (2007-08 only).

Q: My wrestler has purchased a USAW membership card with "Club A" but now wants to compete/practice for "Club B". Can I switch him/her to the new club?

A: Yes, but there is a procedure which must be followed.  The procedure is:
1) Obtain a written release from your original club and send it to the IKWF office.  If you can not obtain a release from your club then the transfer can not occur.
2) Parents must submit letter to the IKWF office requesting the transfer.  Letter must include an explanation for the transfer.
- The above information can be sent via email to ikwf@ikwf.org.
3) Upon receipt, the IKWF office will forward the information to the appropriate Sectional Director for approval.  If the Sectional Director does not approve the transfer, then the transfer can not occur.
4) If approval is given by the Sectional Director it is then forwarded to the voting directors of the IKWF Board.  A simple majority will approve the transfer.
5) If the transfer is approved by the voting directors the wrestler is moved to the new team but is not allowed to score team points for the remainder of the season.
